Dona is the Pastoral Care Assistant/Coordinator of Weddings and Funerals. She has held a number of positions at Metropolitan Memorial over her more than 18 years of service here. To all of her positions she has brought the same caring and nurturing spirit that she brings to her new position working with Rev. Drema McAllister-Wilson on the Caring team, and coordinating weddings and funerals.
Dona enjoys the love and support from her family, her husband, two children, four grandchildren, and great grand-dog, Boots.
Pat is the Director of Worship, Music and Arts at Metropolitan. She has been a member of Metropolitan since 1989 and over the years she has held a variety of staff and volunteer positions. These have included serving as Director of Children’s Ministries, a Board Member for Metropolitan House Shelter, and Metropolitan Players.
Pat’s background is diverse. She was an English Literature and Creative Writing major while attending the State University of New York (SUNY) Potsdam. She has also taken classes in writing and photography from the University of Maryland and the George Washington University, as well as various classes at Wesley Seminary. She grew up in the Catholic Church and maintains a love of liturgy and mystery. Working at Metropolitan combines her many passions and provides a creative outlet.
Pat is involved in animal rescue and has fostered over 100 dogs and cats. She lives in Bethesda, MD with her husband Mike her two sons (recent college graduates) and three crazy dogs. When possible she loves to spend time at the family cabin on Lake Winnipesaukee, NH.
Patrick is the Director of Youth Ministries at Metropolitan, coordinating youth activities such as Sunday School, Breakout, and Confirmation. Patrick joins us from Kansas City where he attended college majoring in music composition. Over the past ten years, he has worked in special education, as a middle school math teacher, as a violin instructor, in church ministries, and in an interfaith nonprofit. Having recently finished seminary, he is excited to continue ministering to young people here at Metropolitan.
Pam Murdoch is the Finance Coordinator. She previously worked at Centreville Presbyterian Church as their business manager. She grew up in Vienna, Virginia and currently resides in Centreville with her husband, two dogs and sometimes her adult son and daughter. Her passion lies with the homeless and orphans. She’s involved with The Lamb Center in Fairfax, VA and Every Orphans Hope in Zambia. She’s been to Zambia several times and hopes to return again soon.
Stephanie is the Serving Pillar Coordinator. Stephanie is from Oklahoma, where she was an active member of the Oklahoma Annual Conference. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Northwestern Oklahoma State University-Alva, and has worked for the university and for the Oklahoma Annual Conference. Stephanie is currently a Global Mission Fellow of the United Methodist Church General Board of Global Ministries. She loves reading, exercising, and coffee.
Rafael is the Director of Building and Grounds at Metropolitan. He takes tremendous pride in keeping the building and grounds in outstanding condition, and he brings a wonderful spirit to all of the many projects he coordinates. Prior to coming to Metropolitan, he served in the same position at Temple Micah for five years. Rafael was born in El Salvador and came to the U.S. in 2001, and he continued his education at Cardozo High School in Washington, D.C. He is the proud father of a beautiful daughter and son, Brittney and Steven with his wife Jasmine.
Helen is the Executive Assistant to Metropolitan’s Senior Pastor Charlie Parker. She is a life-long United Methodist, and has been part of the Metropolitan church family since 1975. Helen worked in a variety of positions at the National Institutes of Health for 33 years, and when she “retired,” she moved directly into working as a member of the church staff.
She has held a number of leadership positions at Metropolitan, including chair of the council on ministries, lay leader, chair of worship, chair of the service ministry team, and chair of the children and youth ministry team.
She is a graduate of the Wyoming Seminary Preparatory School (a United Methodist school) in Kingston, PA, and she has both a B.S. and M.S. from Wilkes College, in Wilkes-Bare, PA. Helen lives in Bethesda, MD, and is the mother of Chris who is currently a student at Boston University School of Theology in the Master of Divinity Program with a focus on Church and the Arts.

Rick is the AU Associate Chaplain for Community Engagement. He is a recent graduate of the Master of Divinity program at Duke University Divinity School. Rick works with the American University United Methodist-Protestant Community. The United Methodist Church's General Board of Global Ministries offered Rick this opportunity through the Global Mission Fellows US-2 Track of Generation Transformation.
