Metropolitan's arts programs promote the awareness that "Art is a gift of being and serves as a sacred bridge" to our Creator, to ourselves and to our world. The arts reflect God's creativity around us and recognize God's creativity within us. Made in God's image, we are called to find and use our creative powers in all aspects of living. Every week, teams of volunteers integrate these sensory expressions as they assist in preparing the worship services and special events at Metropolitan Memorial. A colorful range of opportunities exists for you to explore and express your own creative gifts as you participate in worship and spiritual life at Metropolitan Memorial. We invite you to play an active role in the ministries of the arts at Metropolitan! Please e-mail Rev. Sandy Rector if you would like to find a place for your unique gift, or create a new one! The Arts Council is a catalyst for visual art and a range of artistic expression at Metropolitan Memorial. Council Members initiate new ideas for projects that inform and enrich our corporate life. The Art Selection Committee selects and hosts Gallery Exhibitions of paintings, drawings, sculpture, photography and crafts. The Flower Committee provides visual and floral resources for the sanctuary, special events, and festival services including Hanging of the Greens, Christmas, Palm Sunday, Easter and special events. |
