Where do we sleep?
The bunkhouse! So bring your pillow & sleeping bag!
In the bunkhouse, there are bunkbeds for a total of 17 beds, divided between 2 rooms. There are two restrooms and showers available. Boys will be in one room, girls in another. The bunkhouse is in the Main Resource Center.
On one night, we will sleep in the Global Village. The Global Village is an educational facility which has international sites representing different areas of the world where Heifer is working. For example, there is a bamboo house on stilts representing Thailand with the animals & plants of that region — water buffalo, pigs, poultry, pond, bamboo and a rice paddy. Other sites include Guatemala, Peru, Mexico, Kenya and Tibet.
Where do we eat?
We will have meals in a large kitchen that is staffed by people at the farm. They will accommodate dietary needs, so please note on the form if you have allergies or dietary restrictions.
Breakfast is self-serve, lunch and dinner are prepared by the staff of Overlook farms.
On the night that we stay in the Global Village, we will prepare our meal like a family in a developing world. Snacks and drinks are provided through the day. All of us will share in washing the dishes and cleaning up after the meal.
